 It is hard to believe that it is 9 years since the par 3 championship was brought back to life after an absence from the golfing calendar of 25 years.  In that time we've enjoyed the short game skills of many fabulous players including several Ryder Cup stars and an Open champion - Max FaulknerThere is no doubt that it's the quality of short game skills which is the hallmark of success in both the professional and amateur golfer. However much it is underestimated, it is the key, not big driving I believe that this years field of players is the best that has ever been assembled at Nailcote and includes the new French Open Champion Graeme Storm. Lets hope the sun shines and everyone can enjoy a spectacular demonstration of golfing skill and finesse. Enjoy your time at the Numark British Par 3 Championship.  2007 Congratulations to Steve Cowle, the 2007 Numark British Par 3 Champion. With rounds of 25, 29, 23 and 25 Steve posted a winning score of 6 under par, leading Sam Walker by 4 shots. In a tie for 3rd place, Phil Golding, David Bagshaw and David Park all posted scores of +1. Click here to view the full leaderboard. Pro-Am Betterball Competition Working very well with Steve Cowle's score of 6 under par, amateur Tim Simpson helped move their team to a combined betterball score of 13 under par to edge Andrew Collinson and David Peel out on countback to win the pro-am competition. See the results here. Celebrity-Am Competition The celeb-am competitions running over Thursday and Friday saw some excellent scores returned by both the celebrities and their teams. Dancing Football Stars tackle the Numark British Par 3 Championship Manchester United football legends, Peter Schmeichel and Lee Sharpe were taking up a fresh challeng after their appearances on hit TV shows 'Strictly Come Dancing' and 'Dancing On Ice' by testing their short game golfing skills at the Numark British Par 3 Championship at Nailcote Hall.   2006 The 2006 Championship celebrated the 60th Anniversary in professional golf of two times Ryder Cup captain Bernard Hunt and the competition that followed was special indeed. With the strongest field ever, including 18 European Tour professionals such as Jarrod Moseley from Australia and Steve Scahill from New Zealand, the competition was fierce. After 36 holes rising European Tour Stars Tom Whitehouse and Shaun P Webster tied at 7 under par and after a birdie 2 on the 7th hole Shaun P Webster was crowned Champion.  Shaun Webster - Captured English Amateur Championship in 1996 and turned professional two years later, with financial aid from 18 businessmen who chipped in £1000 each. Missed card at Qualifying School in 1999 after being penalised two shots and fined £500 for slow play. Returned in 2000, just weeks after dropping from 14th to 17th in the last event on the Challenge Tour. Gained 23rd card but was unable to retain his Tour playing rights. Played both Challenge Tour and The European Tour in 2002 but required a return to the Qualifying School to regain his playing rights which he did by finishing 20th. Another visit to the Qualifying School in 2005 saw him finish sixth and set up another shot at glory on The 2006 European Tour. Won the British Par 3 Championship after a sudden death play off with Tom Whitehouse who had also completed the event at 7 under par. Produced a great finish to the Challenge Tour season with 2 successive 2nd places to regain his European Tour car finishing 11th on The Challenge Tour Order of Merit.
2001  2001 was a very special year celebrating the late Max Faulkner's 50th anniversary of winning the Open Championship and the Championship lived up to the special occasion in every way. Ultimately the title went to Midlands' star Robert Rock who won with a 4 under par score of 104, but only after a really exciting three man play off.
Robert Rock - A real up and coming star, Robert has been a top player in the Midlands for several years and won the Championship with a 4 under par total after a three man play off. Subsequently he has qualified to play on the European Tour and is sure to make a real impact during the 2006 season.

Carl Mason - A consistent Tour player since turning professional in 1973, Carl had a succession of second places in European Tour events before finally clinching his elusive first win in the Tour Espana in 1994, following it soon after with another at the Bell's Scottish Open. Carl represented England in both the Hennessy Cognac Cup and World Cup in 1980. Winner of the Short Course title in 1999, stunning everyone with his course record round - a 6 under par 21 and a final winning total of 101. Now the most consistent player on the European Seniors Tour and winner of the opening tournament of 2004.
